MP praises unique school
Posted: 12th November 2020Our unique school has been praised for preparing young people for the skilled jobs of the future.
BMAT STEM Academy offers students in Year 10 and up the opportunity to study for careers in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) industries.
With close working relationships with sponsors including including Princess Alexandra Hospital, Gratnells, GlaxoSmithKline, Raytheon and Pearson Education, the school acts as a stepping-stone for young people wanting to enter careers in these areas.
Harlow MP Robert Halfon, chair of the Commons Education Select Committee, visited the school to see how it has evolved since opening two years ago and launching its sixth form in September.
He said: “It was wonderful to visit BMAT STEM Academy. I really enjoyed speaking with students and it was great to see high quality and engaging teaching.
“I have long advocated the importance of STEM subjects for providing students with skills they need for the future.
“BMAT STEM Academy is preparing Harlow’s young people for the skilled jobs of the future.”
