Unique school welcomes second cohort
Posted: 16th July 2019Students were given an opportunity to sample their new school before they join in September.
A group of 56 students will join Year 10 at BMAT STEM Academy in the new school year.
They will be only the second cohort of students to join the school, which relaunched last year as an industry-focused facility for older students.
During a taster day, students took part in science, engineering, design and computer science activities.
They also had the opportunity to spend time with students in the current Year 10 to hear about their experiences at BMAT STEM.
Assistant headteacher Dave Ramsey said: “The reputation of BMAT STEM is positive and people are getting to know who we are and what we are doing.
“It was a really positive day, with students taking part in great sessions. They learnt what it is like to be at BMAT STEM and were supported through the day by our Creator Team – students given leadership roles in school.
“We look forward to welcoming our new cohort in September.”
